Can there ever be real trust?

While hacking can be a very independent activity, it can also be done (sometimes necessarily) among a group of hackers. In a world where anonymity reigns, how do people connect? How do you know who you can trust enough to work with? How do you protect yourself?

I hear this a lot. I take it that if you want to work with someone, you do a lot of vetting?

Mostly it is based on reputation, I see that communication is done by forums or telegram, but it is better not to trust anyone.

You start with a little test. Whatever they say they can "handle" you give them and see if they deliver. You'll see 1000 scammers for every one real one. You start small by seeing if they do what they said they were going to with access or whatever that isn't worth as much and start them with that and if they start making excuses or finding reasons why they need more or can't get the original job done then they are full of shit so you drop them. They either show up with your part of the job or they don't and if they don't they are scamming. You start with access or whatever that you are able to monitor to see if they are telling the truth or not. Scammers start with the excuses straight away and usually are not very smart so it shows quickly.

Always use caution with people, software, and behavior.

If you want to earn trust, you must first be essential to the person, whether you're a product, a service, a beginning, or an achievement. They must have a need for you, otherwise you're useless.

It's important to exercise caution and consider the context when dealing with hackers but it is very important to trust no one.
